Work History
CPA - Bob worked five years as a CPA for the international accounting firm of Laventhol and Horwath with assignments in the Chicago, Miami and Orlando offices.
Corporate Finance - Bob left public accounting in 1974 to join AIRCOA (now known as Richfield Hotel Management Company), a national hotel development and management company. He began his 15 year career with AIRCOA as its Corporate Controller and when he left in 1989, as the result of a corporate buyout, he was its Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer. At that time AIRCOA was the largest hotel management company in the US with over 150 hotels managed out of Denver and its two subsidiaries in Dallas and Atlanta.
Bob then took another corporate position as CFO for a hotel management company headquartered in Guam, Resorts Services Corporation. With hotel
developments under the proprietary name Pacific Islands Club in Guam,
Saipan, Indonesia, and thailand and a major client in Japan, Bob traveled extensively throughout the Pacific Rim. The parent company
consolidated its operations in Singapore in 1991 and Bob returned to the U.S..
Real Estate Sales - After returning from Guam, Bob obtained his Real Estate Broker
License and has since been associated with three companies whose reputations
for excellence and high professional ethics matched his own personal
standards. At Moore and Company and RE/MAX Classic, Bob's initiation and
training was the best offered by the industry. Bob is now with Cherry Creek
Realtors, a locally owned firm with offices throughout the South Metro Denver
area. The Cherry Creek affiliation allows Bob to operate and manage his own
business independently while still providing the resources of a large
company, a winning combination. Although he has sold homes throughout Denver
and adjoining areas, Bob is most active in the South Metro Denver suburbs, home to him and his family since 1979.
Personal
In 1971 Bob married Lindsay Smith and they now work in the business
together. Lindsay is a native northeasterner and a graduate of Glassboro
State College (now Rowan College) in southern New Jersey. Their older
daughter, April is a graduate of Cherry Creek High School, Emory University
and the Emory University School of Medicine. April is now a resident
physician at Children's Hospital in Cincinnati. Their younger daughter,
Tina, is a graduate of Littleton High School and the Colorado School of the
Healing Arts and now lives in Denver. Tina is an ACE Certified Personal
trainer and a Certified Massage therapist. Bob and Lindsay are active
members of St. Gabriel the Archangel Episcopal Church in Cherry Hills Village
where Bob serves as treasurer, Chalice Minister, Acolyte and Lector. Bob is
a Viet Nam veteran and enjoys tennis, golf and camping.
